Dr T Turner Asst Surgeon U.S.A. who has made a thorough inspection of Warren & Page Counties attends in all cases brought to his [[a?sination] but found them generally well cared for.

I find the feeling of such dependance increasing more particularly in Page Co. where the more intelligent class of Freedman are found. 

Rev. Mr Nickerson & wife have arrived at this place & will open a School for the Freedman under quite favorable circumstances.

In Page County two (2) comfortable School houses have been erected by voluntary efforts of the Freedmen, teachers will be furnish there or as early a as possible.
