Major
I have the honor to report no Material change in Bureau affairs in this County since my last report, and would respectfully refer to that, as my report for this month.

Oweing to the non arrival of any Books, the School at this place was not opened until the 23d inst, it is progressing, as well as possible, their being at the present time about fifty scholars, The Principal Miss Annie Waldon has been supplied with blank reports, but delays making a report until the arrival here of Mrs Combes, who is expected here daily, from whom she will gain some information necessary, to complete the reports. I am obliged to proceed immediately to Mecklenburg to investigate an important matter there, and fear I shall not meet Mrs Combes, which I much desire.
