cause great loss to the farmers by the absence of their hands; and it is a great pity that the colored people cant understand that they cannot afford to lose two or three days in the month for the sake of gratifying their desire to visit Town, where they are sure to leave what little money they bring with them. In conclusion I see no reason to anticipate any change in the peaceful manner in which things have heretofore gone on; and with the exercise of forbearance and discretion by both white and colored, happiness and success will ensue, and the predictions of croakers and dissatisfied rebels will be forever silenced.
