The Churches of the Colored people are well attended during the Sabbath days There is very little intemperance prevailing amongst the Freedmen and it is a notable fact that the Colored people of Danville are a law abiding class of Citizens I am Sorrow to say that many of them are out of employment on account of the Tobacco Manufactories not doing any business here this Season Those men who work at Tobacco do not know anything about farming and consequently must suffer when they cannot obtain employment

I am Most Respectfully
your obedient Servant
