while awaiting judgement in such suits. I have not received any report of outrage or abuse towards the Freedmen during the month. The general condition of affairs, in this District, is greatly improving, and there seems to be universal change for the better in the [[?live]] and actions of the people.

The prospects for good crops this season are very flattering, and if the planters are able to continue to feed their employees, there is no doubt of this result.
