show great advancements. A new one was opened at Marion during the month under the auspices of the American Missn Association. The schools at the Asylum, under the charge of the Society of Friends have closed, but will be reopened on the 1st of October.

The general condition of affairs is rather unsettled, and there is a feeling of insecurity, and owners of property are endeavoring to displace of it with a view of removing to some other locality.

The prospect of Crops are very flattering and will undoubtedly be abundant for the next year's Consumption.
