Steps I think should be taken and that speedily to remedy these things and to make them remember that Lee surrendered at Appamattox that they must observe the paroles, then taken or be branded as perjured villains, unworthy the protection of the government or the notice of loyal men should these miserable creatures be allowed to persist in their lawless course in a very short time loyalty will have no possible chance in King George County. It has been reported that in a short time the the so called Yankees will be invited to leave the County as they "have no use for Yankees and Carpet Baggers" amongst them these "noble high minded Virginia Gentlemen". But these same gentlemen are fast deteriorating and should the Colored people have a chance they would soon be the moneyed men of the County, as they are the industrial
