of the board of overseers of the poor are gentlemen who manifist a desire to relieve the Bureau from further responsibility attending the care of all paupers who under the law of Va., are to be provided for by the county: in this however the board and the court are divided therefore we need expect but little voluntary encouragement from the county while the present court holds sway. On the 7th proximo the committee on the poor are to hold a meeting at which time they are tofully consider this matter in all its bearings. Some of the committee promise to expose the unwarrantable course of the court and officially report the same to this Office. With reference to the work of temperance I have nothing of moment to report.
Very Respectfully,
Your Obdt. Servant
