Chaplain Wardner was detailed in the Bureau by order of Genl Terry. He has been on duty as asst supt at this place. His fidelity. integrity and executive ability, render him a most valuable officer, and one with whom I am exceedingly unwilling to part.
At his own urgent request I forwarded his application to be relieved, approved.
Although I sincerely regret the loss of this officer's service, I still think that his desire to return home with the regiment in which he has done good service during the past four years is entitled to consideration.
