Resply returned x x x x . I have thoroughly investigated this case and am of opinion that this claim has been fully paid. I have examined three freedman who worked on Terrills place last year. Who state that Salley Ann Haginson and her daughter Mildred had each a child and that they were sick a great part of the time, that they did nothing but work in the garden, and in their opinion their work was not equal to the cost of supporting themselves and children.
Terrill supported them. The boy Peter Taylor worked with five others for half the crop, his his portion of which he has received.

Respty returned to Col O Brown Asst Com'r &c. with the remark that the property referred to within is not, and never has been in the hands of the Bureau Mr Mallory knows, This property was libelled confiscated, sold, and deeds given by the U.S. Marshall. It was sold in two parcels.
I purchased one & Dr White the other. Mr Mallory bought back Mr White's part. but has not offered to buy mine. It is rather singular he should bring an action against me if he did not know whether I have bought
