Endorsement on case of John Crittenden (freedman) vs James M Harris. complains that a bond for $600. give by J.M. Harris has never been paid & that it is now in the possession of Harris ~ 2d that money collected for him by J.M. Harris was not paid over to him but was retained by Harris.
3d That a bond given by Harris for $300. of date June 20" 1851. has never been paid. 4th That Harris owes him for the transportation of a Tomb Stone from Petersburg which has never been paid.
"Held by the F Comt of Powhattan Co that as the transactions were all anterior to the taking effect of the Emancipation Proclamation this comt has no jurisdiction in the matter &c"
