I have been unable to see Mr Wm Lucas as he resides some distance in the country.
I have seen his Atty, Mr Cox, who says that he is worth over twenty thousand dollars but that he does not consider that Mr Lucas comes under the Amnesty Proclamation, because he did not leave his home during the entire war, and that he took the oath of Allegiance to the U.S. Gov't at the first opportunity he had.
