Corporation of the City of Norfolk
State of Virginia. To wit

Personally appeared before me, a Notary Public in & for the City of Norfolk, George W Camp, who having first been duly sworn deposes & says as follows -

I have been intimately acquainted with George Blow Sr the owner of the property in Norfolk & Portsmouth, refered to in the accompanying petition, for at least twenty four years, during which period, he has never resided in either Norfolk or Portsmouth, but generally on his farm in Sussex or James City Counties Va. At the time of the evacuation of Norfolk, he resided on the farm in Sussex Co. His property in the above towns, has always been, during my acquaintance with him, managed by an Agent. & at the time the Federal Authorities took charge of it, was rented to & occupied by his servants - He is about seventy eight years old, & from age & infirmity, has had nothing to do with the late rebellion - A portion of the property is now under deed to the Exchange Bank of Ba. of which I am the Cashier.

Spoken for & sworn to before me S.S. Stubbs Notary Public, the 5th day of September 1865.

Simon S. Stubbs
Notary Public
