Brown Commissioner for Virginia Your Petitioner Jane Dye would respectfully represent that she is the widow of James Dye deceased formerly of the County of Elizabeth City; That James Dye died in September 1862 seized of lots of cause lying situated in the Town of Hampton, on the Main Street, adjoining the lots of Thomas Roach and E.J. Richardson, and bounded by said lots of the Main Street; also one other lot in Town of Hampton, adjoining the old Church on the Back Street. That said James Dye left only one child, now year of age. Your Petitioner would represent that she has taken and subscribed the amnesty oath as presented by the Proclamation of President Johnson of May 29th 1865, & that she
