Your petitioner states, that in leaving her home she was influenced about by the consideration before stated; that she was in no way concerned, having no son in the army of the so called Confederate Gov., nor did she in any way participate in the said rebellion. Your petitioner further represents, that she is very poor, has no other property than the said two houses upon which to depend for a support; and prays that the same may be restored to her, and if it can be done that she may have the rents already received by the Govt. paid her. Your petitioner files herewith the Certificate of the Clerk of the Corporation Court of Portsmouth proving her title to the said houses and lots, the oath under the proclamation of the President of the 29th May 1865, the Certificate of the Clerk of the District Court of the Eastern District of Virginia that no steps have
