To Col. OB. Brown
Supt Freedmen & Richmond Va

Col: I beg leave most respectfully to submit to your consideration the following statement of facts.
I moved into the Federal lines, on or about the 20th of May 1864, and took possession of my farm the "Sweet Springs" in the County of Warwick containing one hundred and fifty three acres, and resided in the dwelling house on said farm about two weeks when I was ordered out of the same and forced to leave my home, by one William Bartlett who threatened to eject me with the Provost Guard. Thus by violence I was forced to leave my home and I have been dependent upon the charity of my friends for shelter since that time. I am a widow and almost penniless in my old age being above sixty years of age. I most respectfully request that my land, above described may be restored to me.
