Norfolk City, Sept 21/65

Mr. Thos P. Jackson
Asst Supt-Bureau of R.F. & A.L.

Dear Sir, having subscribed the last Amnesty (relative to the return of lands,) as well as all other preceeding oaths required of me, I do, now, most respectfully ask, that my farm situate in Norfolk County, St. Brides Parish Va which has been but partially given up to me, be, now, fully restored to me. The helpless condition of my family (a wife and three small children) require, that I should use my best efforts to prepare my land for the Fall crops and without delay. My property, both Real and Personal (as by tax ticket for the year 1861 will appear, a copy of which is herewith given) did not amount to $20,000 before the war, nor has not since. I entered the Service April 20th 1861, as Private and so remained until General Lee's surrender, and my family remained within the Federal lines during the entire war. I therefore, beg, that my case with all above facts connected as before you, meet your early consideration and approval, which shall receive my sincere gratitude.
Very Respectfully Yours &c
Robt. N. W. Keeling
