This Indenture made this twentieth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty Four Between George Rowles of the county of Jefferson and state of Virginia of the one part and John Rockenbough of the county and state aforsaid of the the other part 
Witnesseth that the said George Rowles for and in consideration of the full sum of Three Hundred and Seventeen 81/100 Dollars lawful money of the United States to him in hand paid by the said John Rockenbough at or before the sealing of these presents [[strikethrough]] at or [[/strikethrough]] the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath Granted bargained sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said John Rockenbough his heirs and assigns forever all that tract piece or parcel of land lying and being in the county and state aforsaid it being a part of a tract of land conveyed unto the said George Rowles by William Herbit administrator with the will annexed of Ferdinand Fairfax dated Dec 10th 1822 and Recorded in Jefferson county.
