Bureau.  Your petitioner would farther represent that he is a loyal citizen of the United States having taken the oath of Allegiance prescribed by law,  That no proceedings have been instituted against said land [[strikethrough]] as be verily believes [[/strikethrough]] in the District Court of the United States for the district of Virginia as he verily believes; he therefore respectfully asks your order order restoring to him the possession of said land

Personally appeared before me a Justice of the Peace in and for the County of York Wm. H Russell who acknowledged his signature to the foregoing petition and swore that the facts set forth therein are true
