We Wm D. Delany and Wm G. Camp Justices of the peace in and for the City aforesaid in the State of Virginia do hereby certify that Peter Cansse a party to the annexed deed dated the 20th day of May 1848 personally appeared before us in our City aforesaid and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed; and desired us to certify the said acknowledgement to the Clerk of the Hustings Court of the City of Norfolk in order that the said deed may be recorded. Given under our hands & seals this 23d day of Ma 1848
