Bureau R.F. & A.L.
Office Asst. Supt Norfolk Co
Norfolk Va Sept. 5 1865

Respectfully forwarded
In 1862, at the time of the evacuation, the owner of the property, then a minor 15 years old, left Norfolk and enlisted as a private in the rebel army. He served six months in that army, but has since returned and taken the amnesty oath, - and now applies through his guardian for a restoration of his property. This property it is admitted was abandoned but it is claimed that the taking of the oath; restored the owner to all his rights - I respectfully submit the case for instructions
