Sir
I beg leave to apply for restoration of my House and Lot Number 31 Granby Street in the City of Norfolk which belongs to me in fee as the sole heir at law of my deceased Father Frederick W Southgate deceased subject to the Dower thereon of my mother Mrs Angelina E. Johns who has also applied for the restoration thereof in conjunction with me. This property when seized by the U.S. Treasury Agent in December 1863 was rented by my late Grandson Tazewell Taylor to my Aunt who was turned out of possession leaving in the House the Furniture belonging to my mother, and has since been occupied by the Military Authorities. The application for restoration is made under the 7th section of Circular No 15 Current Series dated 4 Sept 1865 with the requisite proof herewith filed.
