An extract from the Will of Jno: Southgate dec 2 admitted to probat in the Corporation Court of the City of Norfolk held on the 24th day of June 1861
I give to my daughter in law Angelina E. Johns during her natural life. The block of buildings in Freemason Street containing three tenements lying immediately East of the Baptist Church at present rented for about eight hundred dollars a year and on the demise of my said daughter in law the same to go to her son {my grandson} John Southgate on his attaining the age of twenty one but in the event of his dying previous to that age or before the death of his mother and leaving no wife or issue then the same on the death of my daughter in law to revert to my Estate
I Henry M. Bowden Clerk of the Court of the Corporation of the City of Norfolk do certify that the above extract is a true copy of the records of this Office
