On this 28th day of September Eighteen hundred and Sixty five, before me that undersigned a Notary Public in and for the City of Norfolk in the State of Virginia, duly authorized to administer oaths for general purposes in said City, personally appeared William M. Wilson, who being by me first duly sworn, doth depose and say, that he has read the Presidents proclamation of the 29th May 1865, which promises certain immunities & privileges to those engaged in the late rebellion against the Government of the United States, and excepting certain classes of persons particularly enumerated therein; and that the case of the said deponent is not embraced in any one of the said exceptions enumerated in said proclamation, as he verily believes.
