Respty returned. The buildings mentioned within were built by the late confederate Govt. for Hospitals, are now used by the Bureau for Freedmens Hospitals and schools for the cold children of Farmville. None of them can now be given up without manifest injury to the freedmen & Bureau.
One or two dilapidated ones were torn down by my order to repair the others.
Their value should say is about $100 each. Mr Daniels has both personally and by endorsement been informed at least fifteen times that until the state authorities made provisions for the case of the colored sick and destitute. that the Hospital Buildings at Farmville could not be sold, destroyed, or given up.
