Jane Barber formerly belonged to Chas. Rob't Woodson. Three of her children are now with him. That he did threaten to drive her from the place with his cane if she did not go when bidden. That no blow was struck

but pushed her along in the direction he had indicated her to go. That Mr Woodson is willing to give up the children if it is the wish of those in authority & looking after the best interests of the children.
But one of the children are now of any service above victuals and clothes. The three are well clad and have a good comfortable home.

---------- Reopened for Editing 2024-04-24 11:48:27 Unsure if the check mark should be noted with the square root symbol. ---------- Reopened for Editing 2024-05-01 15:17:16 Mistakes: changed [[left margin] to [[left margin]] Changed RF & AG to R F & A L - Shouldn't be RF&AL. There are spaces between letters. Put L.R. identification at top of letters, not after the left margin info. That is an important way to identify a letter. Person or Dept in left margin have some connection or are mentioned in the letter. L.R.B.395.2d.V.66. - B.395. of the 2d Volume of 1866 Letter's Received. A lot of times the initial, like B.395. means the first letter of the last name of person mentioned or who or what dept. it is concerned with. For instance: B.385. you will see Stuart Barnes. ---------- Reopened for Editing 2024-05-01 15:31:32
