In obedience to par VI Cir No 10 Hd Qrs Asst Comr State of Va. of date March 12" 1866. I have the honor to report that the several criminal and also Civil cases, in which Freedmen have been engaged, that have come under our jurisdiction of this Sub Dist, during the past month have received very fair & impartial justice, I do not know of but one case in which I think otherwise, and n that the justice of the Peach agreed to grant the parties another trial, which will take place next month.
