be disposed of by a Provost at Freedman's Court., it would be productive of good to all classes.  Whether this arises from a reluctance on their part to get rid of such cases or not I am not able to say now. 


The proportion of cases, of the above named character is greater than in either of the other counties by reason of the fact that Buckingham contains a much larger colored population.  The colored people in this county who are working for certain portions of the crop, are apprehending serious troubles in settling with their employers this fall and earnestly hope an Officer of the Government will be left here to look after their interests.
