Under the requirements of par VI Circular No. 10 Series of 1866 Hd. Qrs. Asst. Comr. State of Va, I have the honor to submit the following report that: The quarterly term of the County Court of Brunswick has just closed its session. There were a good many Grand Jury cases tried before it, where parties had been indicted of assaults, or assault & battery upon Freedmen, which resulted not in impartial & fair trials. One colored man for striking another colored man was fined thirty dollars & costs, while several white men for similar offenses, and some of them  were aggravated, were fined one cent.
