Transcription Notes:
---------- Reopened for Editing 2024-05-16 10:06:05 Had to reopen. There are a lot of errors that need to be fixed. A lot of punctuation is missing. L.R. reference data wasn't typed correctly, and other problems. I will do that. A.A.A.Genl or A.A.A.Gen'l and sometimes A A A G or A.A.A.G. or A A A Genl - these are all for the same thing. H'd Qrs Asst Com'r Dept Poto'c = the Poto'c is for "Potomac". Sg'd - not sg'd ---------- Reopened for Editing 2024-05-20 23:01:15 The first two initials are "L.R." - Letters Received. The next is an initial of the last name; most times of a name found in the left margin. For instance: the top was L.R.A.556 - S.C. Armstrong - this is where the A. comes from. The next one is L.R.A.546. - You will see W.P. Austin in the left margin. "A" from "Austin". The numbers are a reference to help locate this letter. Then you see the Volume - like 3d V. 66. - so third Volume of 1866 of Letters Received. So make sure to put the numbers right after the third initial, as I have shown above. ---------- Reopened for Editing 2024-05-24 17:13:08
