Respectfully returned to Bvt Col Wm H. Weigel with the following report. In compliance with Special Orders No 25 dated Head Quarters Asst Com'r Baltimore M'd August 29th 1866. I invoiced on the same day all the property. for which I was responsible in West Virginia, to the Chief Quartermaster of the Department of the Potomac. Not getting the name of the Quartermaster, I could only address according to my orders.
On the 22d day of October 1866. (today) I received from Bvt Brig Genl A. P. Blunt Chief Quartermaster Department of the Potomac. the same papers, which I had forwarded to him. nearly 2 months previous, with the endorsement dated Richmond Va Oct 19th 1866, that he had been requested by the Asst Commiss of Virg'a to receipt for no Q.M. property in possession of the Bureau in West Va. until instructions to that effect are received from the Commissioner.
In compliance with the within endorsement from Maj Genl O. O. Howard Comm'r. I will make out and forward the necessary papers of transfer. to Bvt Maj Geo. Q. White Chief Quartermaster B of RF. & A.L. for Va
