Respectfully returned to Genl O Brown A.A.A.G. H'd Qrs Asst Com'r Dept Potomac inviting attention to enclosed report of Lt W. S. Chase Asst Supt. Also plan of school house to be erected at Warrenton Va. It is not recommended that frame buildings for school purchases be erected at other points as it is believed that with proper exertion on the part of the freedmen and some assistance from the Bureau Log Houses can be built. An estimate for building at Madison C.H. either frame or log will be forwarded as soon as completed. In the enclosed estimate the cost of the lumber should be deducted from the total cost.
