George Taylor (cold) vs. William and James Roberts
Charge Nonpayment of Rent

George Taylor (cold) states I rented from Mr McCandlish Ten (10) acres of land last year for Thirty (30) Dollars and became responsible for the rent. I rerented to Defendants two thirds of the land at the same rate that I rented it for and they now refuse to pay me.

James Roberts (cold) states my Bro. and myself cultivated the land as stated, and have no objection to paying the rent, if it is right, that we pay Taylor, and he has a right to receive it.

The Court after mature deliberation decided to give Judgment in favor of Plaintiff, and the Defendants paid over the amt. claimed viz. $20.00

Charge Stealing

Thomas Ray (white) being duly sworn deposeth as follows. On saturday two weeks ago I missed one of my hogs in making search for it, I received sufficient information, to lead me to believe that the accused had killed it. I procured a guard and searched his house, found a quantity of meat and the accused acknowledged that he had killed
