NARA 580

I want you to be kind enough to write me a full explanation of the Conditions upon which these schools are going to be conducted. I see your Circular or Order but I do not understand whither the Govt intends to pay the bond of the teachers. expenses of wood & lights. &c or not. If the Government will pay our bond and the expenses of the school I will go to work and get up a school of 150 One Hundred and Fifty pupils- and I am sure that I can advance them as fast as any other teacher. there is any amount of men who will accept these schools- who are not competent to instruct any thing. eaven as to Education- and their morels are away down- and all they accept the school for is the money, and if the pupils have not learned anything at the end of the school they the teachers) are that much the better pleased-

If my Brother is reliced (and every one thinks he he will be) we will get a school here an will endever to conduct it in the Principles of all white schools. and we will keep a good teacher for every 50 Pupils and with the interest that we will take and devote our whole time and attention to it, and the favorable opinion all the Blk folks have of both of us and especially my brother I know that we will be able to continue in this place until Spring- and perhaps longer- I am anxious to see what I can do with the pupils I have been teaching the past four months. I have any amount of Pupils who commensed with me in their A.B.C's and they can read very well now. I would like to be able to go back
