24  Henry Meeks Cold. vs. Thomas Cavin
Complains that Cavin came to him in the field and drew a revolver on him threatening to take his life, without any provocation. Turned the case over to the Civil Authorities to be tried on Tuesday Oct. 20th 1868.

25  W.C.S. Pentris vs. Sterling Cold.
Complains that Sterling has a horse belonging to him, said horse having been sold to one "Charles" with the understanding that if not paid for in two months from Jany 1st 1868, to  be returned to Mr Pentris which was not done but sold by Charles to Sterling. This agreement being in writing and witnessed I ordered the horse turned over to Mr Pentris which was done And Charles is to pay Sterling for the loss of his horse.

26  Freedmen vs. Mrs. Pinson
 Complaint that Mrs. Pinson refuses to ssettle with  the hands on her place for the cotton raised this year 1868. She having been ordered to do so by the Sheriff of Wilkinson County untill they the hands exhibit receipts for the taxes, for the years 1867 and 1868. As such order from the Sheriff is grossly illegal I ordered Mrs. Pinson to settle with the hands as fast as sales of cotton were made regardless of such order from the Sheriff.

27  Lewis Bell Cold. vs. Jake Carter Cold. Lewis Cold. Lefi Levison do.  and Susan Ford do. 
Complains that they do  not work according to contract and are inclined to ignore his authority entirely. Summoned the parties to appear which they did. I examined their accts and made them acknowledge them. After which I advised them to go back and complete the gathering of the crops which they consented to do. And when that is done they are to come before me for a final settlement.

28  Rudolph Bronse vs Henry Johnson Cold.
Complains that Johnson lives in his house and owes him $9. 00/100 rent, which he cannot pay Case compromised by Henry Johnson evacuating at once. Said $9 00/100 debt being canceled thereby. Satisfactory.

29  Nelson Minor Cold. vs. U.S. Government
Requests payment for making coffins for Deceased U.S. Soldiers at Natchez Miss. during the war. Claim investigated and papers forwarded to Natchez for information.

30  Phillip -- Cold. vs. Alexander Burns Cold.
Complaint of Assault and Battery. Turned over to Civil Authorities where it was compromised by Burns pay twenty one dollars $21 00/100
