Respectfully returned to Bvt. Maj L. Walker S. A.C. of the two children, of Richard Bland. Annie is the older. Richard was born after the father was sold and Alice the mother of the children, says the father has never seen him. Alice has had one or two letters from the father since she has been free and he promised to send her something for the children but she has received nothing, she is unwilling to part with them and can maintain them there. The children have been attending school and do not wish to be separated from their mother. nor can this office advise such a separation.
