Stuart Barnes - as herein stated - It was not paid on the date of the within, but was paid within a reasonable time thereafter - I believe one hundred dollars of the amount had been paid me before the date of the within receipt by Capt. Barnes' check - Given under my hand this 5th of July 1867.
