Respectfully returned with the information that "Orange" is in jail at DeKalb, Kemper Co. I have reported the case of his children to the Asst Commr. at Vicksburg without sucess. I would sugest that you call the attention of Genl Wood to this case, state that he was committed to Jail last winter, was kept in Jail until boath his feet were frozen, made his escape, and came here where he remained near ten months, when he retd. here in April for his children thay had him arrested and put in Jail. I think his children should by all means be released.
