Reply- referred to Bvt. Maj T.H. Norton Sub. Asst. Comr. for. Meridian Miss for explanation Major. N's Attention is invited to the following which has the Authority for building a School House.

"Reply. returned to Maj Norton who is authorized. to expend ($1000) in the erection of a building to be used exclusively as a School House that no part of this fund shall be disbursed until Maj N. shall by personal examination be satisfied that the lot upon which it is to be built has been actually deeded to proper trustees for School purposes[?] Vouchers for this expenditure will be forwarded to this office for approval."
   
Explanation is required of reasons for not Erecting this building on School lot. Payment has been suspended. as a church was not authorized.

Reply ret'd to Asst. Comdr BR.F. and AL for Miss with the informa that the building recently erected for a Freedmans School is upon the lot Originally deeded for that purpose. A mistake occurred as to the location of this lot. and the  framework of the building was first put up upon a lot owned by M'r L A Kagodule which when discovered necessitated its removal. to where it now stands.
