Examination of William Hollins late private of Co. "A,, 40" U.S.C.T. 
Question:  Where were you living when you made claim for bounty.
Answer:  At Tates Station on railroad from Clarksville Tenn. to Russellville Ky.  I was living with Mr. Sam Hollins about two miles from Tates' Station.
Question:  What are the nearest towns to Tates' Station.
Answer: Gutherie's is nearest, about 2 miles.
Question:  Who were your witnesses when you applied for bounty.
Answer: The first time I went to Mr. Buck, agent of the Bureau in Clarksville and my witnesses were Hayward Walter and Joshua Heuyter.  The next man I went to was Mr. McMillan in same office and Hayward Walter went with me and Lewis Hatcher.  I put in my claim about five years ago.

Ans:  In Virginia
Question: What season of the year did you enlist 
Ans:  In the spring.  Don't know the year 
Qu:  Where was it
Ans:  Nashville.
