Complainants state there dates of enlistment the soldier was 39 years old and 5 feet 4 in.

Ans:  At Chattanooga Tenn.

Ans:  In March I think
Qu:  How long had you served then
Ans:  Two years and a half I think
Qu:  Who was your Captain then
Ans:  Captain Boyd.
Qu:  Who was the Infantry Sergeant
Ans:  I forget
Qu:  Were you always a private soldier
Ans:  I was a piper until I took the small pox.  I was the first piper when the company was first made up  
Qu:  Who were the drummers and pipers you were were mastered out
Ans:  John Ball was piper, Can't remember the drummer.
Qu:  Who was Sargeant in your company  
Ans:  Sam Hatcher, Henry Beaumont, can't think of any others.
