Dear Sir

Henry Clay late of Company F of the 114 Regiment, U.S.C. Inf and a Client of Mine and for whom I prosecuted to Settlement a Claim for $100 Dollars Bounty under act March 3 1873 has never received his money from these reasons to wit when Henry was notified to attend at Lexington Ky for the purpose of being paid the leters would be Directed to him and he was living in the country and would not get the leters untill the time had passed if Said leters had been Directed to him in My care as usual he would have attended the first call

I enclose for Henry Clay Affidavits of Identity and want You if You please to give him notice of time and place that he must attend to be paid and Very Much Oblige Henry Clay and Yours Most

Respectfully
Geo. Passmore
