REMARKS.
Jefferson was free when he enlisted. I married him at Helena Arks. about a year and half before he died. He was killed by a pistol shot at DuVolls Bluff, fired by an Inft. Soldier. Jefferson was in the Brigade Band about a year before he was killed. He was in the Band for some months.
