It is stated in the application upon which the settlement referred to above was made that the soldier died at Camp Nelson, Ky on or about the day of July 1864, that her maiden name was Mary Smitte, that she was married to said Mitchell Johnson on or about the 1 day of January 1859,
at Scott Co. Ky, by Henry Brown Baptist Preacher
