Davis, and was mustered in the 7th day of August, 1863, at Vicksburg Miss, by Lieut P K Thomas., for 3 years. At the time of enlistment he was 38 years old, and 5 feet 6 inches high, Black complexion, Black eyes, Black hair, and by occupation a Laborer. He [[strikethrough]] was discharged (or [[/strikethrough]] died) 5th day of January, 1865, at Vicksburg Miss Capt. Charles W. Taylor was commanding officer, and Wesley T Hammond first sergeant at time of soldier's death.
