Miss, was enlisted the 1st day of September, 1863, at Natchez Miss, by Captain Hopkins, and was mustered in the 12th day of September, 1863, at Natchez Miss., by Capt. W. C. Ide, for 3 years. At the time of enlistment he was 24 years old, and 5 feet 8 inches high, Brown complexion, Black eyes, Black hair, and by occupation a Farmer. He [[strikethrough]] was discharged (or [[/strikethrough]] died) 21st day of October, 1863, at Natchez Miss. Capt. R. R. Hopkins was commanding officer, and Marcus L. Nelson first sergeant at time of soldier's death.
