NARA 0288 (FORM 24.) Charles Whittington, Private Co., "I". 114th Reg't U.S.C. Troops was born in Shelby, Kentucky, was enlisted the 28th day of June, 1864, at Lexington, Ky., by Thos. H. Moore and was mustered in the 28th day of June, 1864, at Lexington, Ky., by Capt. Moore, for 3 years. At the time of enlistment he was 19 years old, and 5 feet 6 inches high, Black complexion, Black eyes, Black hair, and by occupation a Laborer. He was discharged [[strikethrough]] (or died) [[/strikethrough]] 2nd day of April, 1867, at Brazos Santiago Tex. 1st Lt. Enos H. Bliss was commanding officer, and George Dyer first sergeant at time of soldier's discharge. REMARKS. 1. If a slave, that fact and name of owner will be noted here. 2. Any other peculiar fact or event connected with the soldier's history will also be noted. He was a slave of Mrs. Davidson, Shelby Co., Ky. Joined company at Original Organization. Present for duty from organization to muster out of Co. He was mustered out with company. No record of Co. or Principal Musicians. Thomas Stevenson Chaplain died at Brownsville, Tex, Feby 10th 1867.
