It is stated in the application upon which the settlement referred to above was made that the soldier died at Vicksburg, Miss. on or about the 9th day of August, 1864; that her maiden name was Fannie Matthias, that she was married to said late soldier on or about the 25 day of Oct, 1863 at Vicksburg, Miss, by one John Stephenson, colored preacher .
