Allen Coleman, Private Co., E. 5 Reg't U.S.C. Cav. was born in Scott Co. Ky., was enlisted the 9 day of Sept, 1864, at Camp Nelson, Ky, by J.C. Randolph, and was mustered in the 9 day of Sept. 1864, at Camp Nelson, Ky., by Capt. N.C. Kinney, for 3 years. 

At the time of enlistment he was 20 years old, and 5 feet 4 inches high, Black complexion, Black eyes, Black hair, and by occupation a Farmer. He was [[strikethrough]] discharged (or died) [[/strikethrough]] missing in action, 25 day of January, 1865, at Simpsonville, Ky. 2 " Lt Augustine Flint was commanding officer, and Moses Craig first sergeant at time of [[strikethrough]] soldier's [[/strikethrough]] action.

REMARKS.

1. If a slave, that fact and name of owner will be noted here. 
2. Any other peculiar fact or event connected with the soldier's history will also be noted.
