NARA 0574 (FORM 24.) Field Shackelford, Sergt. Co., A 63 Reg't U.S.C.T. was born in Morris Co. Ala, was enlisted the 20 day of October, 1863, at Corinth, Miss., by Capt. Jno. Phillips. and was mustered in the 9 day of December, 1863, at Corinth, Miss., by Lt. Febry, for 3 years. At the time of enlistment he was 26 years old, and 6 feet - inches high, Black complexion, Black eyes, Black hair, and by occupation a Farmer. He was discharged [[/strikethrough]] (or died) [[strikethrough]] 9th day of January, 1866, at DeValls Bluff, Ark Capt. Andrew G. Warner was commanding officer, and Green Long first sergeant at the time of soldier's discharge. REMARKS. 1.If a slave, that fact and name of owner will be noted here. 2. Any other peculiar fact or event connected with the soldier's history will also be noted. Slave April 19/64 of whom not known. Joined at original organization a Pvt. appointed Corpl.
